“During our preventative maintenance checks, we noticed approximately 12 handrail holders with various signs of corrosion and splitting of this type of metal. We have taken the effected rails off of our three fire apparatus and are having these replaced with stainless steel, that should outlast the vehicle lifespan. We will continue to monitor and perform preventive maintenance on our fleet and pay close attention to the tiniest details that can prevent slips and falls for our firefighters.”
